The Upper Room:
~a prayer & worship gathering~ Mark 14:12-16, Acts 1:13-1

Mark 14:12-16 (English Standard Version)
The Passover with the Disciples
12 And on the first day of Unleavened Bread, when they sacrificed the Passover lamb, his disciples said to him, "Where will you have us go and prepare for you to eat the Passover?" 13And he sent two of his disciples and said to them,"Go into the city, and a man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him,14and wherever he enters, say to the master of the house, 'The Teacher says, Where is my guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?' 15And he will show you a large upper room furnished and ready; there prepare for us."16And the disciples set out and went to the city and found it just as he had told them, and they prepared the Passover.

Acts 1:13-14 (ESV)
13And when they had entered, they went up to the upper room, where they were staying, Peter and John and James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot and Judas the son of James. 14All these with one accord were devoting themselves to prayer, together with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and his brothers.

Our goal is to provide a safe place for corporate soaking that is covered by prayer by thinking, feeling and doing. So come and settle down, relax and enjoy a good long soak...!

What is Soaking?
Soaking sessions are a way to translate our longings into an act of worship and abandonment before God, with no other agenda than to just meet with God and soak in His love and embrace. The live worship music is carefully selected to facilitate genuine intimacy with the Lord. The entire experience is a gentle, peaceful, and intimate one that aids in entering into a place of stillness and quietness where we can experience the Love of our Heavenly Father.

Think.
- Reading and hearing of God's words through the Bible
Feel.
- Conviction & Transformation through the Holy Spirit
Do.
- Our response to God in the form of prayer and singing

Who:
God’s People (The Church)

What:
We soak in the spoken Word, through worship and prayer.

When/Where:
Fourth Wednesday Night of each month at The Garden 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Why:
The idea is to pursue fullness of joy by soaking in God's love and presence. Being in the presence of God and being overwhelmed by the weight of His Glory, is the end in itself.

How:
We can stand, walk around, lie down, kneel, sit down on a chair. We pray for one another. We pray for healing, physical, emotional, and spiritual healing. We pray for the church, the city, the country, and the world. It is a very informal and intimate atmosphere.

Mark 12:29-31 (ESV)
29Jesus answered, "The most important is, 'Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. 30And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.' 31 The second is this: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these."

John 7:37-39 (ESV)
37 On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, "If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. 38Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, 'Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.'" 39Now this he said about the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were to receive,...

Nehemiah 8:6 (ESV)
6And Ezra blessed the LORD, the great God, and all the people answered, "Amen, Amen," lifting up their hands. And they bowed their heads and worshiped the LORD with their faces to the ground.

Psalm 57:9 (ESV)
9I will give thanks to you, O Lord, among the peoples;
I will sing praises to you among the nations.
