Our name comes from the passage in Acts 18 where it says that during the Apostle Paul's stay in the city of Corinth, he worked as a "tentmaker" while doing his ministry. The Apostle Paul was a "tentmaker" by trade, but his identity was that of a minister of the Lord. We, as young adults at The Garden, desire to be known in the same way; that though we are teachers or physicians by trade, our identities are that we are ministers of Jesus Christ. Thus, we are Tentmakers!
We Tentmakers are a community of post-undergraduate, young adult disciples who aim to influence our workplaces and graduate schools for Jesus Christ. This specific time in our life is a unique and special one, a God-given opportunity to freely use our abundant time, energy, and resources. Before the concerns of marriage and family come our way, we desire to live each day of our single life unhindered for Christ!
